Job summary

PO&G Resources is seeking a Senior Operational Accountant in Houston to own JIB and daily cash application across multiple entities, including revenue and receipts. You will prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and support audits while mentoring junior staff in a multi-entity oil and gas environment.

The role emphasizes control improvements, adherence to COPAS/JOA practices, and collaboration with partners.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
5+ years of oil and gas operational accounting experience, including hands-on JIB and cash application.
Experience with 1099 preparation and reporting.
Working knowledge of joint interest billing (JIB), Joint Operating Agreements (JOA), and COPAS procedures.
Experience with EnergyLink and DocVue (or equivalents).
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication with partners and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Own day-to-day JIB processing for operated and non-operated properties.
Prepare and review journal entries, overhead entries, and cost allocations.
Prepare and review account reconciliations, AR transfers, and complex AP transactions.
Support the Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) process, including monitoring and project tracking.
Coordinate and facilitate operated JV audits conducted by non-operated partners.
Serve as a resource for JOA, COPAS, and land matters, and respond to inquiries.
