Job summary

Duties & Responsibilities:

Full-stack development of complex business logic, performinghands-on coding of core application components and conducting peercode reviews to ensure adherence to Java design patterns andperformance standards. Act as principal architect for middlewareand identity systems, holding final authority over code promotionand infrastructure. Define mandatory technical specifications,framework versions, and dataflow for enterprise-scale Javaapplications. Establish standards for server provisioning, HAProxyload-balancing, and SSL/TLS security protocols. Architect databaseconnectivity, firewall protocols, and CI/CD pipelines using Docker.Manage version control policies, perform JVM tuning, and authorTechnical Design Documents (TDDs).

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Management, Information Services, or a related fieldplus 1 year of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
• Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment ofrespect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty,staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or acommitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.

Salary Range: $120,182
