Job summary

EXSIF, part of Marmon Holdings and Berkshire Hathaway, is hiring a Senior Java Software Engineer to design, build, modernize, and support reliable enterprise applications and integrations. This role is hybrid in Chicago, with one in-office day per week.

You will collaborate with IT, business stakeholders, and external partners to deliver practical, maintainable solutions, report to the IT Delivery Manager, and uphold engineering best practices across the delivery lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Java/Jakarta EE with focus on enterprise apps.
• Frontend/Backend development using JavaScript and SQL.
• Experience with APIs, data models and integration patterns.
• Familiar with Agile/Scrum delivery environments and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support Java-based enterprise applications and related integrations.
• Contribute to reliable software delivery through version control, CI/CD, automated testing, and deployment practices.
• Troubleshoot production applications, improve stability, and participate in operational support as needed.
• Refactor legacy applications to improve performance, maintainability, and scalability.
