Job summary

Sohogtech is seeking a Senior Java Software Engineer for an onsite contract role. You will own design, development, and modernization of enterprise Java applications, with focus on Spring Framework/Spring Boot and REST APIs.

Strong experience in cloud tech, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, and production support is required. Responsibilities include building scalable services, containerized deployments on Azure/GCP, CI/CD with GitHub Actions, and mentoring teammates in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with senior ownership of production Java applications.
• Strong expertise in Java, Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
• Experience designing REST APIs and integrating with cloud services.
• Ability to modernize legacy applications and drive performance improvements.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and optimize enterprise Java applications using Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
• Develop secure, scalable REST APIs and integrate with internal/external services.
• Implement and optimize application search with Elasticsearch/OpenSearch.
• Deploy and maintain containerized apps with Docker and Kubernetes across Azure and GCP.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and ensure automated testing.
• Monitor production, troubleshoot issues, perform root-cause analysis, and participate in architectural reviews.
