Job summary

RE Partners is hiring a Senior Java Platform Engineer to build a large-scale developer platform for a global investment bank. You will own backend services, automate remediation across thousands of repositories, and implement secure, scalable solutions. This hands-on role emphasizes architecture and production ownership rather than CRUD tasks.

Location is NYC/NY metro area with hybrid onsite expectations. Employment type is full-time, permanent (W2) with US work authorization required.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on Java and Spring Boot experience.
• Background in backend services, microservices or distributed systems.
• Solid knowledge of Core Java, concurrency and performance.
• Experience with Maven or Gradle and CI/CD tooling.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and containerized deployments.

We’re hiring a Senior Java Platform Engineer to build a large-scale developer platform for a leading global investment bank. The platform automates software remediation across thousands of repositories — identifying vulnerable dependencies, updating code, running changes through CI/CD, and generating validated pull requests. This is a hands-on backend/platform engineering role, not a traditional CRUD position.

What You'll Do

• Build Java 21 / Spring Boot services and APIs
• Design scalable distributed backend systems
• Build automation around Maven, Gradle, Git and CI/CD
• Run services and automated workloads on Kubernetes / AWS
• Develop tooling for dependency upgrades and code remediation
• Work with technologies such as OpenRewrite, Renovate and SBOM/security scanning
• Own solutions from design through production

What We're Looking For

• Strong hands-on Java / Spring Boot experience
• Experience with backend services, microservices or distributed systems
• Strong understanding of Core Java, concurrency and performance
• Experience with Maven or Gradle
• Experience with Kubernetes, containers and CI/CD
• Strong debugging and software design skills
