Job summary

RE Partners in Irving, TX is building a new engineering team for a global financial institution to launch a deployment security initiative. We’re seeking a Senior Java Engineer who loves performance, scalable systems, and making strong architectural decisions from day one.

You’ll design and build low-latency backend systems in Java, develop REST APIs and microservices, and collaborate with DevOps, Product, and QA teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Java development experience.
• Strong Core Java, Spring/Spring Boot, and microservices experience.
• Experience building low-latency, high-throughput applications.
• Hands-on with MongoDB.
• Experience with OpenShift and/or Kubernetes.
• Strong communication skills and ability to make opinionated technical decisions.

Irving, TX | Hybrid | 2-3 days/week in office

We’re building a new engineering team for a global tier-1 financial institution to launch an exciting deployment security initiative focused on securing deployment pipelines, infrastructure, and internal engineering tooling.

This is a great opportunity for a Senior Java Engineer who loves performance, scalable systems, and making strong architectural decisions — and wants to have a real impact from day one.

What you’ll be doing

• Design and build low-latency, high-throughput backend systems using Java
• Develop scalable REST APIs and microservices
• Work with Spring Boot, MongoDB, AWS, OpenShift/Kubernetes
• Build and optimize systems where performance, reliability, and security matter
• Drive improvements in performance, fault tolerance, and observability
• Collaborate closely with DevOps, Product, and QA teams
• Contribute to architecture and technical direction
• Mentor engineers and champion engineering best practices

What we’re looking for

• 10+ years of Java development experience
• Strong Core Java, Spring/Spring Boot, and microservices expertise
• Experience building low-latency, high-throughput applications
• Strong experience with MongoDB
• Hands-on experience with OpenShift and/or Kubernetes
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to make opinionated technical decisions

Nice to have

• Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging technologies
• Payments, banking, or financial services experience
• Container security or OpenShift performance tuning
• Knowledge of ISO 20022, SWIFT, or payment gateways

The base salary range for this position is $130,000.00 - $150,000.00 annually. This range represents the good-faith minimum and maximum salary the Company believes it would pay for this role at the time of this posting.

Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, geographic location, internal equity, and business needs. This position may also be eligible for additional compensation, including bonuses, commissions, and/or benefits, as applicable.
