London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) seeks a Senior Associate Software & Platform Engineer to join the FX Engineering group as an individual contributor. You will work on Java applications, Spring Boot, CI/CD, and cloud-based platform engineering in a large-scale trading tech environment.

You will develop microservices, contribute to testing, deployment, and operational readiness, and collaborate with DevOps/SRE teams and architects to deliver secure software.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Java development experience.
• Experience building applications with Spring Boot.
• Experience with Maven or Gradle.
• Strong fundamentals: clean coding, debugging, source control, code reviews.
• Experience writing unit and integration tests.
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools (GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
• Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Knowledge of microservices, REST APIs, logging, deployment.
• Containerization and cloud-native practices basic.
• Strong Agile delivery.
• Excellent collaboration with globally distributed teams.
• Ability to work as an IC and own tasks.

Responsibilities

• Develop Java-based applications and microservices with Spring Boot.
• Write and maintain clean, testable code.
• Use Maven or Gradle to build, package, test, and manage dependencies.
• Create unit and integration tests to ensure quality.
• Support CI/CD based build, deployment, and release activities.
• Automate development, testing, deployment, and ops workflows.
• Work with Azure, AWS, or GCP for deployment and runtime.
• Troubleshoot across code, config, builds, deployments, and cloud.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and platform teams for reliability.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and planning.
• Contribute to docs, runbooks, and knowledge bases.
• Learn and apply DevOps/SRE principles.
• Drive continuous improvement in code quality and productivity.
• Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools where appropriate.
