Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and deliver scalable enterprise applications supporting healthcare payer operations. You will work with architects, product owners, and platform teams to build secure, high-performing solutions using microservices, Java, Python, cloud technologies, and modern data platforms.

You will collaborate to define technical requirements, estimate effort, and deliver high-value features through Agile practices while improving performance

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and REST API development.
• Hands-on Python and modern software engineering practices.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Cloud and container technologies including AWS, Kubernetes, and Docker.
• CI/CD and software quality tools such as GitLab, CloudWatch, JUnit, and Mockito.
• Experience in the Healthcare Payer domain.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance scalable microservices-based applications using Java, Spring Boot, Python, and cloud-native technologies.
• Build and optimize backend services, APIs, and database solutions for high-volume healthcare payer operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, estimate effort, and deliver features via Agile methods.
• Improve performance, reliability, and scalability by identifying bottlenecks and implementing monitoring.
• Contribute to code quality, testing, CI/CD, documentation, and engineering best practices.
