Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to lead design and development of scalable cloud-native solutions using Java/JEE, Spring Boot and RESTful microservices. The role emphasizes Kafka for event-driven services and strong API governance in a healthcare context.

Qualifications

5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
5+ years with developing applications within Java/JEE, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, RESTful microservices.
3+ years of Apache Kafka (event streaming, partitions, consumer groups, schema registry).
3+ years CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, automated testing.
3+ years Docker, Kubernetes, Cloud orchestration.
2+ years hands-on experience with Cloud (GCP, AWS, Azure).

Responsibilities

Architect, design, and develop high-performance microservices using Java, JEE, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud.
Lead development of event-driven services using Apache Kafka and ensure API governance.
Mentor team members and contribute to engineering standards and code reviews.
Design and implement ETL pipelines and lead data migration efforts to cloud environments.
Build and maintain CI/CD automation and secure development practices.
Integrate microservices with Healthcare/EHR systems (HL7, FHIR) and ensure HIPAA-aligned data flows.
