Job summary

TMT IT Solutions in Dallas, TX is seeking a Software Engineer (Java) to join a fast-paced team building enterprise applications. You will develop RESTful services, design microservices, and implement robust data access with SQL Server and NoSQL where appropriate.

The role requires a Bachelor's in CS and 5+ years of Java development with Spring, plus experience with server technologies (Tomcat/Apache/J2EE), Docker, Kubernetes, and Agile practices. On-site work is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java and the Spring Framework.
• Relational databases (MS SQL Server preferred) and NoSQL familiarity.
• Experience with web/application server technologies: Apache, Tomcat, IIS, Node.js, Nginx, and J2EE.
• Proven experience in Web Services and API design and development.
• Strong foundation in data structures, system design, and algorithms.
• Working knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Experience scoping and developing microservices.
• Familiarity with GitHub, Jira, and Confluence (or similar tools).
• Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Comfortable working in both Waterfall and Scrum methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop enterprise-grade applications and databases with complex requirements as part of a collaborative team.
• Design and build RESTful services, APIs, and/or message/event-driven architectures.
• Translate user requirements into functional application requirements.
• Stay current on cutting-edge software approaches, architectures, tools, and platforms — and share your insights.
• Ensure non-functional requirements (security, performance, scalability, maintainability, usability, and reliability) are built into every solution.
• Follow industry standards and engineering best practices.
