Job summary

Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. is seeking a Senior Developer to help modernize the Settlements platform.

You will contribute to backend services, design new components, and work across greenfield and existing systems, balancing innovation with operational rigor. The role requires strong Java design and development experience, familiarity with Spring and application servers, and a passion for scalable, secure financial market infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Java design and development.
• 2+ years of experience with open-source frameworks like Spring.
• 2+ years of experience with Tomcat/SpringBoot/Vertx or equivalent servers.
• Strong understanding of web security concerns.
• Ability to write and troubleshoot SQL queries.
• Experience with unit testing and SDLC tools (Git, Jira, Jenkins, Maven).
• Familiarity with financial markets, derivatives, or exchange/clearing operations is a plus.
• Experience with AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude.
• Frontend experience with ReactJS or Angular is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, and implementation of a new backend system for the Settlements platform.
• Develop applications supporting the Settlements platform and related services.
• Handle builds, deployments, and test creation across dev/QA/prod environments.
• Create design documentation for new software and versions.
• Utilize AI tools to improve development productivity and code generation.
• Provide second‑tier production support for 24/7 applications.
• Support deployments during maintenance windows and troubleshoot issues.
• Collaborate with business analysts to understand new requirements.
