Job summary

Tech Mirrors is seeking a Sr Java Developer in Chicago to design, develop, and own complex microservices-based applications. You will work onsite on a 6+ month contract, leading design and code efforts while guiding the team through SSDLC and security considerations.

Role requires 9+ years of hands-on Java experience, expertise in Spring Boot, WebFlux, Kafka, and cloud-native development on Azure. Strong communication and leadership are essential for collaboration in an onshore-offshore model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or closely related field.
• Overall 9+ years of industry experience.
• Hands-on Senior Java Developer with strong Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and Azure experience.
• Experience with Spring WebFlux, JPA/ORM, Kafka, JMS, MQ/Solace, Redis, NoSQL and SQL frameworks.
• Experience using Service Discovery, Circuit Breaker, and API Gateway design patterns.
• Cloud Native Development with Azure SQL/PostgreSQL, Cosmos DB, Blob Storage, EventHub, Service Bus, Event Grid, Application Insights, Synapse Analytics, Logic Apps, Container Apps, Container, and Unix.
• DevOps CI/CD with Gradle, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Nice to have MERN stack for UI with HTML5, CSS3, SCSS, Bootstrap, ReactJS, Node.js.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop software components based on screen design documents.
• Ensure code meets standards and is tested appropriately.
• Provide technical guidance to the development team.
• Own design and code and communicate status to project team and management.
• Continuously improve application stability, scalability, and user experience.
• Address architecture and security and own the team’s approach to risks.
• Apply Agile Methodology and Cloud Native Development (Azure preferred).
• Knowledge of UI frameworks, Java, and application servers.
• Understand the full software development lifecycle and SSDLC.
• Lead delivery with a positive, goal-oriented attitude.
