Job summary

WorkNovas LLC is seeking a Senior Java Developer for Boston, MA or Jersey City, NJ with 3 days onsite per week. You will design, build, and support large-scale distributed enterprise systems using Java in a financial services context.

We require 10+ years of hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, AWS, Kafka, and container tech (Docker/Kubernetes; OpenShift). You’ll lead critical modernization, performance tuning, and high-availability architectures in on-prem or hybrid environments.

Qualifications

• :"10+ years of hands-on software development experience designing, building, and supporting large-scale distributed enterprise systems using Java.","Extensive experience in analysis, troubleshooting, and production support of legacy systems, including root-cause analysis, performance tuning, defect remediation, and modernization support.","Proven track record of ownership and accountability on complex projects.","Strong knowledge of client/server and object-oriented development with Core Java, JSON, MQ, JMS, Kafka, and related integration tech.","Experience with containerization and orchestration: Docker and Kubernetes (OpenShift or similar).",
• Experience with AWS cloud services including deployment, monitoring, and integration with on-prem or hybrid environments.
• Experience migrating apps from on-prem to AWS; post-migration stabilization a plus.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL) with design, performance, and transactional systems.
• Understanding of large-scale enterprise architectures (HA, resiliency, scalability, fault-tolerance).
