Senior Java Developer (Java, AI) – Contract

ARC Group is actively seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer with expertise in artificial intelligence (AI) to join our dynamic team on a contract basis. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement in Jacksonville, FL, providing a unique opportunity to collaborate both onsite and remotely within a respected organization known for its commitment to career development and diversity.

As a Senior Java Developer, you will play a critical role in the development, programming, and coding of advanced Information Technology solutions. Your responsibilities will include documenting detailed system specifications, participating in unit testing, maintaining internally developed applications, and evaluating and performance testing purchased products. A core part of this position is to ensure IT controls are in place to safeguard the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of applications and data. In addition to leading project efforts and overseeing deliverables, you will provide training and act as a technical resource for less experienced developers, fostering growth and knowledge sharing across the team.

This Senior Java Developer contract role in Jacksonville, FL, is positioned to drive critical initiatives such as migrating large data platforms, delivering enterprise service integrations, and leading the modernization of legacy systems. You will provide technical leadership in Java, Snowflake, DBT, MongoDB, Postgres, Iceberg tables, Dell Boomi, and more. Your expertise will ensure the development and implementation of secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions that align with ARC Group’s mission of innovation and excellence.

As part of your responsibilities, you will lead Snowflake migration projects, guide data and service migration efforts, and contribute to the seamless integration of fast-access databases. The Senior Java Developer will architect reusable solutions, optimize data access, enhance application scalability, and support governance and security best practices. Additional duties include leading centralized data classification, integrating GW Chat, automating vulnerability remediation, and supporting legacy modernization efforts.

This role also requires hands‑on involvement in AI initiatives, where you will design and implement AI solutions using agentic patterns, develop scalable systems across AWS and on‑premises environments, and mentor development teams on AI best practices. Your ability to evaluate and integrate emerging AI technologies will be vital in maintaining ARC Group’s position at the forefront of technological advancements.

Preferred candidates will have experience with hybrid cloud architectures, containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines for AI/ML workloads.
