Job summary

BCforward is seeking a Senior Java / Big Data Engineer for a 12-month contract in Charlotte, NC. The role focuses on end-to-end Java application development, big data engineering, and performance optimization.

Responsibilities include designing scalable data-intensive solutions, migrating workloads to strategic platforms, building data pipelines, and mentoring team members. Strong Spring, Java UI, and Agile experience are expected.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of hands-on Java end-to-end development.
• Strong Java fundamentals and profiling knowledge.
• Proficiency with Spring, Spring Boot, JPA, Hibernate.
• Experience with data pipelines, big data tech, and data integration.
• Proven leadership and mentoring abilities in teams.
• Background in cloud or distributed computing.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end Java apps supporting current and target processes.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to implement target architecture.
• Build and optimize data pipelines for real-time, streaming, and batch ingestion.
• Load and manage large datasets in Hadoop and compute on Spark.
• Profile and tune performance for data-intensive apps.
