Cognizant is seeking a Senior Java Backend Developer to design and build scalable, cloud-based applications for high-volume operations. You will collaborate with product managers, tech leads, and engineers to translate business requirements into robust technology solutions and ensure architectural integrity.

This remote role targets candidates located in the United States and requires 6+ years of experience with Java, Spring, and Kafka, plus experience with CI/CD, Kubernetes, and Agile

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software development experience with Java, Spring, Spring Boot, and Spring Data JPA.
• Hands-on experience developing and supporting scalable backend applications in a cloud environment.
• Strong experience with Apache Kafka or another enterprise messaging or queueing technology.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, and modern deployment practices.
• Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment and collaborating with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement scalable backend apps using Java, Spring Boot, and cloud technologies.
• Lead technical discussions with product managers and engineers to translate requirements.
• Build features with unit tests and maintain code coverage.
• Support the full software delivery lifecycle, including CI/CD, testing, release, and monitoring.
