Job summary

Delta Dental Ins. in Alpharetta, GA is seeking aSenior Software Engineer to design, build and maintain enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot microservices, and Microsoft Azure cloud services.

You will work with a cross-functional team to deliver secure, scalable products and support mission-critical production systems. The role requires strong analytical skills, experience with Azure Functions and Durable Functions, and a passion for modern architecture and DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise applications using Java and Microservices Architecture.
• Strong expertise in Core Java (Java 17+) with OOP, collections, multithreading and JVM tuning.
• Extensive experience developing Spring Boot Microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Functions, Azure Durable Functions and cloud-native architectures.
• Relational databases, data modeling, SQL tuning and query optimization.
• Experience in Azure services such as Service Bus, Event Grid, AKS, App Insights and DevOps.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, and maintains scalable, secure, high-performance applications using Java and microservices.
• Builds cloud-native solutions on Microsoft Azure including Functions and Durable Functions.
• Supports CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and production health across systems.
• Mentors engineers, conducts code reviews, and drives architectural improvements.
• Collaborates with product, UX, DevOps, QA, and other teams to deliver reliable software.
