Job summary

ABC Legal Services seeks a Senior Java Developer to expand the Enterprise team's capacity for integrations. You will design, build, and support reliable APIs and integration services that connect our platform with customers, partners, vendors, and internal products.

The role spans Java services, REST contracts, security, and data persistence. The ideal candidate has strong Java fundamentals, experience designing REST APIs, Spring/Spring Boot, and relational databases, plus a track record in

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or related discipline.
• 7+ years of professional software development experience with Java.
• Proven design and implementation of REST APIs and system integrations.
• Experience with Spring or Spring Boot, DI, security, and SOA.
• Strong understanding of API security concepts (OAuth 2.0, token-based auth).
• Experience with relational DBs, SQL, data modeling, and migrations (e.g., MyBatis).
• Familiarity with asynchronous processing and event-driven patterns (ActiveMQ, webhooks).
• Experience with rules engines such as Drools or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs used by customers and partners.
• Extend APIs for future integration projects with vendors and internal systems.
• Develop secure machine-to-machine integrations with proper authentication and versioning.
• Build resilient integrations with inbound/outbound processing, webhooks, and events.
• Design durable event-driven workflows with retries, idempotency, and audit history.
• Collaborate with product and operations to translate requirements into solutions.
• Investigate and resolve production issues with durable fixes.
• Contribute to tests, code reviews, and API documentation.
• Leverage AI tools to improve development speed and quality.
