Job summary

Localizationacademy in Reno, NV, seeks a Senior Translator (Contract) to provide high‑quality Japanese‑English interpretation and document translation for technical manufacturing topics. 40 hours/week, 8am–5pm PT, 10/1/2026–12/31/2027, 12‑month assignment with potential conversion.

The role requires native‑level fluency, strong collaboration, and mentoring of junior translators, with preference for candidates who understand lean manufacturing and TPS concepts.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in Japanese and English with high proficiency (ILR 4+).
• 2+ years of interpreting experience in manufacturing or related fields.
• Technical interpretation experience preferred (mechanical/electrical/chemical).

Responsibilities

• Interpret in various settings including onsite and online meetings.
• Translate technical and non-technical documents accurately.
• Train and mentor other translators.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
