Job summary

Sound Transit is seeking an IT professional to maintain and support a major system and enterprise applications. You will analyze requirements, design, install, troubleshoot, upgrade, test, and document across hardware, networking, and software components to ensure reliable operation.

You will coordinate with IT teams and vendors, prepare technical manuals and system architecture, and help ensure compliance with laws, policies, and standards while supporting business customers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or closely related field.
• Five years of information technology experience that includes administering enterprise level and networked server business applications.
• Experience with ERP and enterprise integrations; SQL language knowledge.

Job description

Salary range is $81k to $186k, with a midpoint of $133k. New hires typically receive between minimum and midpoint, however, we may go slightly higher based on experience, internal equity and market.

This is a term limited position of 2 years.

GENERAL PURPOSE:

Under general direction, maintains, administers, monitors, and supports a major system(s) and highly complex/specialized computer applications for the Agency; provides analysis, specification, design, installation, troubleshooting, upgrading, testing, documentation, operations, and service of enterprise and other system applications. Works with infrastructure that includes hardware, networking, applications, software, applications, peripherals, and local and wide area networks. Provides business analysis to internal and external customers to assist them with use of technology; develops and updates documentation for technical manuals, technical systems architecture, system specifications, test scripts, and training manuals; provides coordination between other IT teams and division; and develops standards and methodologies for administering business applications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The following duties are presentative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities. lncumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and maybe required to perform additional, position-specific duties.

• Performs troubleshooting, upgrades, testing, and maintenance of Enterprise and other major systems and applications in assigned area;
• Works with customers to provide requirements and process analysis, develop system design and system specifications; provides customer service and support to diverse internal and external customers.
• Develops test data and scripts; develops and updates documentation such as technical manuals, technical system architecture, system specifications, test scripts, and training manuals; applies knowledge and skills from technical publications, manuals and other documents to systems maintenance and operations.
• Procures new systems and applications, as directed; works with the vendor to implement and configure these applications to suit business and technical requirements of the agency;
• Assists manager in tracking application licenses, costs, and budgets.
• Analyzes, creates and executes test scripts and procedures for quality assurance (QA) of major applications and equipment.
• Troubleshoots, resolves, and responds to application issues and performs back-up duties as needed for the systems administrator, which may include performing system administrator duties for Agency systems as assigned, such as password recovery, trouble ticket origination, testing of issues and trouble reports, and closure.
• Monitors performance of systems and processors and troubleshoots issues and alarms; responds to alarms and issues as level 2 support and directs resolution of issues as required.
• Manages integrations with other Enterprise systems and applications. Creates/builds new integrations
• Provides support to the division/department on matters as directed; serves as staff on a variety of committees; maintains awareness of new trends and developments in the fields related to area of assignment; ensures processes, policies and practices are interpreted and applied consistently and effectively; ensures accountability and compliance with all current and applicable state and federal laws, Agency policies and procedures, rules and regulations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or closely related field. Five years of information technology experience that includes administering enterprise level and networked server business applications; Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

• Strong preference of experience with Enterprise-level business applications, such as ERP
• Experience with systems integrations, both batch and real-time
• SQL language

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

• Work is performed in a hybrid environment with an expectation of working in office a minimum of 3 days per week.
• This position is responsible for managing a number of administration screens and programs that may not be up to accessibility standards. May be subject to seeing.
