Job summary

The University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Dentistry (UMSOD) is seeking an IT Systems Administrator, Sr to provide senior-level administration, maintenance, security, and support of on‑premises and cloud infrastructure, including Azure, VMware, Hyper‑V, Veeam, Windows Server, and Active Directory.

Qualifications

• Four years’ experience with proficient knowledge of at least two operating systems (Windows, Linux/Unix).
• Experience with virtualization platforms including VMware vSphere/vCenter and Hyper‑V.
• Experience with backup and disaster-recovery solutions and security patching.

Responsibilities

• Lead installation, support, and maintenance of servers, storage systems, or operating systems.
• Serve as primary administrator and technical lead for virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere/vCenter; Hyper‑V).
• Administer and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions (Veeam).
• Participate in design and support of hybrid cloud and Azure infrastructure.
• Interface with campus technologists to ensure integrated systems and applications.
• Provide technical support for client workstations and OS upgrades.
• Lead training for IT staff and perform other duties as assigned.
