Job summary

NerdWallet is seeking a Senior IT Systems Administrator to maintain the stability, scalability, and security of our technology infrastructure. You will design, configure, and maintain identity, endpoint, security, networking, and cloud services to support teams across the company.

This role reports to the Manager, IT and can be done remotely from the United States. You will implement automation, manage Okta and AWS, help with SOX compliance, and collaborate with Security, DevOps, HR, and other

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proficiency with network infrastructure/troubleshooting, and AWS experience.
• Experience with enterprise-scale implementations of IT infrastructure and security.
• Strong technical writing and ability to produce high-quality runbooks and SOPs.
• Ability to build project plans and carry them to completion.
• Experience with change management and IT processes.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Nice to have: knowledge of AI/ML applications in IT operations.

Responsibilities

• Identity platform administration (Okta), SSO, authentication, and access controls.
• User lifecycle automation for onboarding/offboarding of users, devices, and access.
• Maintain IT infrastructure including networks, servers, firewalls, apps, and cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Endpoint management and configuration (Jamf, Intune) including security policy and patching.
• Support SOX auditing and enforce compliance across IT processes.
• Build automation across IT operations using code and no-code tools.
• Identify opportunities to apply AI/ML to reduce operational burden and improve decisions.
• Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation.
• Collaborate with Security, DevOps, HR, and other teams to implement improvements.
• Assist IT leadership on special projects involving sensitive data.
