Job summary

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is recruiting an experienced IT Project Manager affiliated with the downtown Chattanooga office. This 12-month contract offers up to $90/hour for an experienced PM handling large budgets.

Position requires planning, leadership, and coordination of complex projects, with PMI/PMP preferred. Start date 06/15/2026, location Downtown Chattanooga office, and benefits include medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
• 5–10 years of utility project management experience preferred.
• Knowledge of project management techniques and cost estimating.
• Ability to analyze complex technical problems and find cost-effective solutions.
• Familiarity with Identity and Access Management principles; PMI/PMP preferred.

Responsibilities

• RESPONSIBLE FOR THE OVERALL PLANNING, DIRECTION, MANAGEMENT, COORDINATION, IMPLEMENTATION, EXECUTION, CONTROL, AND COMPLETION OF SPECIFIC PROJECTS ACCORDING TO SPECIFICATIONS.
• LEADS JOINT PROJECT TEAMS.
• MANAGE AND CONTROL PROJECT SCHEDULE, COST AND PERFORMANCE RISK TO ENSURE PROJECT IS COMPLETED WITHIN A CERTAIN SET OF RESTRAINTS (TIME, BUDGET, PEOPLE, QUALITY, MATERIALS).
• THIS ROLE SERVES AS THE SINGLE POINT OF CONTACT AND IS GENERALLY ASSIGNED MEDIUM SIZE PROJECTS, OR FUNCTIONS WITHIN A LARGER PROJECT.
• CAPABILITY TO MANAGE PROJECT BUDGET OVER $25 MILLION, OR A PORTFOLIO OF PROJECTS THAT HAVE AN AGGREGATE TOTAL OVER $75 MILLION FOR ALL ACTIVE PROJECTS ASSIGNED.

• TargetW2 Pay Rate: Up to $90.00/hour (time and a half for overtime)
• Target Start Date: 06/15/2026
• Duration: 12 months

Education / Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
• 5 - 10 years of utility project manager experience preferred (equivalent experience with increasing levels of position responsibility in leading project teams is appropriate).
• Requires knowledge of project management techniques, experience to resolve complex problems, and practical experience in project scoping and cost estimating.
• Requires ability to analyze in-depth technical problems and determine the most cost-effective solution.
• Experience with large scale project execution.
• Familiarity with Identity and Access Management principles and functionality.
• Project Management Professional (PMI/PMP) certification is preferred.
