Job summary

Farmer Mac is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead complex technology initiatives from initiation through delivery. In addition to project leadership, you will serve as Scrum Master for select IT teams, applying Agile principles to help deliver value on time and within budget.

Based at Farmer Mac's headquarters in Washington DC with remote candidates considered, you will coordinate with diverse stakeholders, manage multiple projects, and ensure governance, risk, and quality controls

Qualifications

• Seven years of experience as an IT project manager in a financial services environment.
• Proven ability to lead complex technology projects including system implementations, upgrades, integrations, and process modernization.
• Ability to manage several projects in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality.
• Strong knowledge of Waterfall, Agile, and hybrid approaches with ability to apply the right approach.
• Hands-on experience as a Scrum Master, coaching teams and product owners.
• Experience using Agile metrics (velocity, burndown, cycle time).
• Ability to support multiple Agile teams and adapt facilitation styles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders and senior leadership.
• Strong leadership, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex, cross-functional technology projects through full lifecycle.
• Manage several projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
• Serve as Scrum Master for IT teams and coach Agile practices.
• Maintain a prioritized backlog with product owners and analysts.
• Define scope, budget, and resource plans; manage changes.
• Identify and mitigate project risks and issues.
• Provide regular status updates to sponsors and leadership.
• Coordinate with vendors and consultants to ensure delivery.
• Ensure release readiness and go-live coordination.
• Apply SDLC governance and tailor Waterfall/Agile/hybrid approaches.
• Maintain project data in Azure DevOps and reporting tools.
• Lead meetings and drive continuous Agile improvement.
