Job Summary
As a Senior IT Project Manager, you are a seasoned project leader responsible for managing complex, enterprise-level technology projects across a multi-site Dental Support Organization (DSO). This role manages strategic technology initiatives, ancillary technology deployments, integrations, and other defined infrastructure projects. Reporting directly to the IT Integration & Project Delivery Manager, the Senior IT Project Manager ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget while driving organizational change and adoption.
Essential Functions
- Lead large-scale IT projects from initiation through closure, including PMS rollouts, data migrations, and ancillary technology implementations.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, budgets, resource allocations, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure alignment with organizational priorities and IT strategy.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the primary liaison for projects between IT, Operations, Clinical, and Revenue Cycle teams.
- Facilitate executive-level updates, steering committee meetings, and decision-making processes.
- Manage expectations and communicate project status clearly to all stakeholders.
- Oversee vendor deliverables, SLAs, and performance; negotiate contracts and manage escalations.
- Coordinate with PMS vendors, technology partners, and integration partners to ensure successful deployments.
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to HIPAA, SOC 2, and internal security standards throughout project lifecycle.
- Maintain documentation for audits, change management, and governance processes.
Change Management & Adoption
- Develop and execute change management plans, including training, communication, and adoption strategies.
- Drive cultural and operational readiness for technology transformation.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within project delivery.
- Contribute to IT Project Management best practices and mentor junior project managers.
- Lead various process improvement efforts as defined.
Project Planning & Execution
- Coordinate PMS-related projects (Denticon, Cloud 9, DSN Cloud) and ancillary technology implementations or adjacent projects
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations for IT initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to scope, schedule, and quality standards; proactively manage risks and issues and escalates in a timely manner.
Reporting & Metrics
- Track and report project progress, KPIs, and financial performance to leadership.
- Conduct post-implementation reviews to capture lessons learned and continuous improvement opportunities.
Required Skills/Abilities
- 7+ years of IT project management experience, preferably in healthcare or multi-site environments.; with 3+ years in senior or lead roles.
- Proven success managing software implementations, integrations, and infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with PMS platforms (Denticon, Cloud 9, DSN Cloud) or similar healthcare applications.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile) and tools (Asana, Jira, Smartsheet).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills
- Previous experience supporting doctors’ offices and/or dental practices strongly preferred
- Detail orientated and comfortable working a fast-paced office environment
- Excellent oral communication and strong interpersonal skills
- Desire and ability to learn new skills and be a team player
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, business, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification strongly desired
