Job summary

AST SpaceMobile seeks a Senior IT Engineer to support our global corporate computing environment. You will provide end-user and infrastructure support across Windows, Linux, and macOS, ensuring reliability and performance.

The role includes deploying hardware, managing AD and cloud identities, software updates, and maintaining documentation. A strong foundation in networking, server hardware, and virtualization is essential, with bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience with Windows desktop support.
• 5+ years of experience with hardware maintenance tasks such as racking servers and deploying workstations.
• Strong working knowledge of networking fundamentals (OSI model, TCP/IP, firewalls, routing).

Responsibilities

• Provide end-user support across workstations, servers, and mobile device platforms.
• Support engineering applications on Ubuntu, RHEL/CentOS 7, and Windows 10.
• Prepare, deploy, and ship new hardware to remote sites and end users.
• Deploy and maintain on-premises hardware including routers, switches, servers, workstations, monitors, and printers.
• Manage user accounts in on-premises Active Directory and cloud identity providers (Entra ID, LastPass/1Password).
• Perform software installations, patches, and upgrades to maintain security and integrity.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose system issues across hardware and software layers.
• Create and maintain systems documentation for repeatability and compliance.
• Escalate complex issues to subject matter experts when necessary.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Position Overview

We are seeking a self-motivated, results-oriented Senior IT Engineer to join our global team supporting and advancing our corporate computing environment. This role involves working with innovative technologies in a fast-paced, growth-oriented company. The ideal candidate is technically proficient, professional, and passionate about helping others while ensuring the reliability and performance of IT systems across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide support for end users across workstations, servers, and mobile device platforms (hardware and software).

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, or a related technical field preferred

Experience:

• 5+ years of experience with Windows desktop support.
• 5+ years of experience with hardware maintenance tasks such as racking servers, switches, deploying workstations, setting up printers, etc.
• Good working knowledge of networking fundamentals such as the OSI model, TCP/IP stack, communication protocols, firewalls, routing, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• IT related certification from Red Hat, Microsoft, CompTIA, VMWare, etc.
• 2+ years of experience with Linux desktop support, preferably Ubuntu and RHEL/CentOS 7+.
• Experience with virtualization products such as Hyper-V or VMWare.
• Experience with cloud Infrastructure as a Service such as AWS or Azure.
• Experience with Cisco Meraki network infrastructure.
• Experience with macOS, iOS, and Android devices.
• Scripting and automation experience.
• Experience with Dell iDRAC.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in a standard office environment and use a computer for extended periods.
