Job summary

The City of Austin is seeking an IT Data Architect to design, build, and optimize the enterprise data platform powering reporting, analytics, AI, and decision-making. You will develop scalable data pipelines, integrate data from multiple systems, and create modern architectures such as data warehouses, data lakes, and data hubs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Science or a related field, plus five years of related experience.
• Masters degree may substitute for up to two years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Designs and implements data pipelines and analytics infrastructure across enterprise.
• Develops scalable data architectures (data warehouses, data lakes, data hubs).
• Collaborates with data analysts, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver production-ready solutions.
• Documents data models, mappings, and specifications; ensures data quality and governance.
