Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a Senior IT Auditor, Information Technology, to lead and document audits across technology, cybersecurity, governance and operations. You will guide audit project teams, provide oversight, and communicate results to management.

The role requires 4–5 years of IT audit or technology risk experience, strong knowledge of IT controls, and professional certifications such as CISA or CISSP.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4–5 years of IT audit, technology risk, or related systems experience.
  • Strong knowledge of IT audit methodologies, technology and cybersecurity risks, internal controls, and applicable standards.
  • Ability to assess the design and operating effectiveness of IT, application, security, and technology-related controls.
  • Broad understanding of IT infrastructure, applications, data, cloud technologies, and technology governance.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and business judgment skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and independently or as part of a team.
  • Relevant professional certification, such as CISA, CISSP, or equivalent, preferred.

  • Apply professional skepticism and sound judgment when evaluating processes, controls, and risk management practices
  • Review audit workpapers and documentation for quality and compliance with audit standards
  • Communicate audit progress, results, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders and Audit Services management
  • Maintain relevant technical and audit knowledge through ongoing professional development

The Senior IT Auditor, Information Technology (IT), is responsible for conducting and documenting audits throughout the Corporation. This role leads audit project teams, which includes providing oversight to the audit team and communicating results of the engagement to management.

The Senior IT Auditor provides technical cyber expertise and training to auditors within the engagement audit team and works closely with Audit Managers to confirm the scope of the audit and to devise an appropriate testing approach to be performed during the engagement.

Working Model

Salary Range

$84,455 - 143,545 USD Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
