Job summary

Rincon Research Corporation seeks a proactive Information System Security Officer (ISSO) for its Chantilly, VA location. The role focuses on ISSO support for local and networked systems, working with engineers, security staff, program managers, and vendors.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years ISSO or System Administration experience required.
• Experience in Cybersecurity assessments, accreditations, and continuous monitoring.
• Knowledge of Linux systems and commands.
• Ability to interface with customers, programs, visitors, and engineers.
• Ability to collaborate remotely with security team across roles.
• Must have a current TS/SCI clearance eligibility and DoD 8570 IAM Level 1 or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Work with Cybersecurity team to provide ISSO support for new and existing systems.
• Ensure systems are operated and updated per security policies and documentation.
• Create and maintain System Security Plans and the Body of Evidence.
• Perform continuous monitoring, vulnerability scans, and audit reviews.
• Review changes to system baseline configurations and update SSP docs.
• Coordinate with Security Manager through briefings and meetings.
• Recommend cybersecurity solutions to meet requirements and mitigations.
• Assist with security planning, risk analysis, and incident response.
• Provide IA collaboration with System Admins for new and existing systems.
• Provide Security Help Desk support including ticket review and assignment.
• Assist in applying security policies and procedures.
• Support Physical Security tasks: IDS/ACS, camera systems, inspections.
