Job summary

AM Law 200 firm in Charlotte, NC seeks an experienced IP Transactions Senior Attorney to lead patent-centric deals, including acquisitions, licensing, and litigation funding.

The ideal candidate has a JD from a top law school, 38 years of AM Law firm experience, and a strong background in patent transactions and deal negotiation. A North Carolina license and a hybrid in-office schedule are preferred.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from a Top 30 law school (min GPA 3.0; no bottom 50% of class)
• 38 years of experience in a Top 200 AM Law firm
• Strong background in patent transactions, including deal structuring and negotiation
• North Carolina Bar admission preferred
• Comfortable with a hybrid schedule (typically 3 days in-office; may vary by practice group)

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage patent-centric transactions, including acquisitions, licensing agreements, and litigation funding deals
• Provide strategic counsel on intellectual property matters across a range of industries
• Structure, negotiate, and draft sophisticated agreements involving patent rights and technology assets
• Advise clients on IP-related regulatory and corporate governance considerations
• Collaborate closely with internal teams, clients, and third-party stakeholders on high-impact IP matters
