Job summary

Vaco Recruiter Services is seeking a Senior IP Network Engineer to design and sustain a large-scale, highly available network across data centers and WANs. You will advance automation while ensuring security layers and reliable operations.

Onsite in Raleigh, NC, you will mentor engineers and drive cross-functional initiatives. Candidates should have 10+ years of experience in service provider or enterprise networks, strong data center expertise, and proficiency with Python/Ansible and Linux.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in service provider or large enterprise networks.
• Expert data center networking with VxLAN/EVPN.
• Strong firewall policy management and segmentation.
• Routing prowess: BGP/OSPF/MPLS in production.
• Multi-vendor experience: Cisco and Juniper.
• Scripting/automation: Python, Ansible; Linux basics.
• Mentor engineers and lead initiatives.
• Clear communicator with technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design and support modern data center architectures with VxLAN/EVPN.
• Manage and enhance enterprise firewall infrastructure.
• Architect and maintain routing across backbone networks (BGP).
• Lead network automation: provisioning, monitoring, remediation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate new tech.
• Participate in on-call rotation and maintenance.
