Job summary

Dev Technology is seeking an experienced iOS Engineer to build an on-device translation platform for federal mission environments in Reston, VA. You will own the iOS app architecture, performance, and production releases, integrating on-device ML models and coordinating cross-service workflows.

You will work with Core ML, ONNX Runtime, and WhisperKit, ensure memory efficiency on 6 GB devices, and implement real-time audio pipelines with AVAudioEngine.

Qualifications

• 5+ years shipping production iOS apps in Swift.
• Experience with AVAudioEngine or AudioUnit at the hardware callback level.
• Track record integrating ML frameworks into iOS apps (Core ML, ONNX, TensorFlow Lite).
• Memory and performance optimization on constrained devices.
• Experience with background URLSession and resilient download/upload systems.
• Proficiency with protocol-oriented design and multi-module Swift packages.
• Ability to work in a federal compliance environment with security requirements.

Responsibilities

• Own the iOS application: architecture, performance, memory management, and production releases.
• Integrate on-device ML inference frameworks—loading, lifecycle, error recovery—without training models.
• Build real-time audio pipeline: AVAudioEngine, VAD, buffer management with priority.
• Apply Swift concurrency to avoid data races and jetsam kills on limited device memory.
