Job summary

Williams-Sonoma, Inc. is seeking a Sr Inventory Planner to drive projections and purchasing for assigned areas. You will supervise one or more Control Buyers and help shape annual and seasonal financial plans and assortment strategies.

The role requires onsite presence Monday-Thursday with remote on Friday, and involves travel to DC and Call Center to support inventory and service objectives.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years retail experience (planning, buying, purchasing) or related experience.
• Computer skills -- Excel, Word, Microsoft Outlook, MS Access.
• Strong business acumen, financial analysis, and technical skills

Responsibilities

• Work with managers, peers and merchants to project sales and inventory strategies.
• Maintain and update sales data in forecasting system for item level projections.
• Direct disposition of overstocks and aged inventory (spif, sale book, outlet).
• Review vendor buy plans, backorders and overstock, alert reports, in-stock lists.
• Communicate major flow changes for budget maintenance and catalog strategy.
• Travel to DC to monitor inventory and resolve issues; visit Call Center for service issues.
• Lead or participate in department projects to improve systems and procedures.
• Manage and lead meetings; participate in catalog-proof review process.
