NC State University is seeking a Senior International Student & Scholar Advisor in Raleigh, NC to provide immigration guidance for F-1 and J-1 students and scholars; manage a substantial caseload; mentor colleagues; and lead process improvements within the Office of International Services.

The role requires a Master’s degree and at least five years of advising experience, with strong knowledge of regulatory changes and the ability to train staff and collaborate with campus partners.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in international studies, higher education and student affairs, counseling, social work, foreign language, communications, or related field.
• At least five years of experience as an international student or scholar advisor or five years of equivalent academic advising experience.
• Prior ARO/DSO experience with larger advising loads (300+ assigned advisees).
• Ability to interpret, apply, and advise on F-1 and J-1 regulations.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; multi-tasking in a busy environment.
• Experience training and potentially supervising new advisors on immigration regulations and processing procedures.
• Experience with Google Apps or Microsoft Office Suite; ability to work independently and on a team.

Responsabilités

• Provide immigration advice and support to international students and scholars; mentor colleagues and supervise staff as needed.
• Lead process improvements and deliver campus training; support regulatory changes.
• Serve as liaison for assigned colleges; communicate policies and procedures clearly.
• Participate in rotating weekly drop-in advising and scholar check-ins; manage complex casework.
• Maintain and update OIS policies, procedures, and website content.
• Engage in professional development through NAFSA, NCAIE, and other organizations.
