Burke & Herbert Bank is seeking an experienced Internal Audit Lead to plan and execute internal audits, evaluate controls, and improve efficiency and compliance. You will mentor junior staff and work with the Director of Internal Audit on risk assessments.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, 5+ years in auditing, and CPA/CIA preferred. Office-based with limited travel and potential for bonuses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in internal or external auditing.
• CPA and/or CIA preferred or actively pursuing.

Responsabilités

• Lead and perform operational, financial and compliance audits.
• Mentor junior auditors and review work products.
• Identify control gaps and provide actionable recommendations.
• Monitor implementation of audit recommendations and remediation.
