Job summary

Coinbase is seeking an Internal Audit Senior Associate to execute risk-based audits, covering planning, fieldwork, reporting, and remediation validation. You will partner with cross-functional teams to identify gaps and craft actionable remediation while upholding independence and regulator-ready documentation.

The role emphasizes strong audit execution, regulatory knowledge, data analytics proficiency, and collaboration within a global, finance-focused environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in internal audit, external audit, compliance testing, or risk management within financial services, fintech, payments, brokerage, or custody.
• Independently execute audits end-to-end with regulator-ready documentation quality.
• Familiarity with AML/CFT, sanctions, and consumer protection regulatory frameworks.
• Manage multiple audit workstreams and deadlines, including co-sourced resources.
• Data analytics techniques (SQL preferred) and tech-enabled audit efficiency.
• Responsible use of AI with human oversight for business-ready outputs.

Responsibilities

• Execute end-to-end operational and compliance audits, including scoping and risk assessments.
• Lead testing, reporting, and remediation validation for audit findings.
• Draft concise risk-based recommendations to drive improvements.
• Lead audit reporting with clear summaries for senior leadership and regulators.
• Validate remediation of prior findings and close items appropriately.
• Collaborate with Operations, Compliance, Risk, Finance, and Legal teams while maintaining independence.
