Jobbeschreibung

Our client is a luxury residential developer with an established portfolio of high‑end homes throughout Los Angeles County. Having built and sold more than 200 homes, the company currently has over 30 projects in various stages of development, with project values ranging from approximately $6M to $30M+.

As the business continues to grow, our client is expanding its design capabilities and looking to bring more of the design execution process in‑house. This is an exciting opportunity for a Lead Designer to play an important role in building that platform from the ground up.

This position is ideal for a designer who is equally comfortable with design, project management, and execution. You will work closely with senior management, construction teams, vendors, and third‑party designers to ensure every project is executed to the highest standard and that the final product matches the design vision and what was promised to the client.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead multiple high‑end residential projects concurrently from design development through installation
  • Work closely with senior management, construction teams, vendors, contractors, and third‑party designers
  • Review third‑party design packages, identify discrepancies, coordinate revisions, and ensure plans are accurately executed in the field
  • Develop design concepts, space plans, architectural elements, color and fabric schemes, custom window treatments, and custom furniture
  • Work across a variety of high‑end residential design styles, including Modern, Craftsman, Spanish, and other architectural styles
  • Prepare and coordinate electrical switching plans, hardware, plumbing, paint, and lighting schedules
  • Oversee drafting required for the manufacturing and installation of furniture, window treatments, lighting, and accessories
  • Develop and maintain detailed project budgets and timelines, ensuring projects remain on schedule despite short lead times
  • Coordinate and manage multiple vendors, general contractors, subcontractors, and trades throughout the project
  • Manage purchasing and preparation of decorative items, deliveries, shipping, and final installation
  • Work with an assistant on logistics while maintaining ownership of the overall design execution
  • Communicate directly with clients and provide solutions when challenges arise
  • Conduct regular project reviews to ensure design details, materials, finishes, and specifications are executed as intended
  • Help establish and improve processes as the company continues building its in‑house design capabilities
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience as a Lead Designer within a high‑end residential interior design firm or in‑house with a luxury residential developer
  • Strong hands‑on project management experience within high‑end residential projects
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously from concept through installation
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is required
  • Strong understanding of residential design, space planning, architectural details, furnishings, finishes, lighting, and materials
  • Experience reviewing and executing detailed design packages
  • Strong knowledge of custom furniture, window treatments, lighting, and accessories
  • Experience developing and managing project budgets, schedules, and timelines
  • Proven ability to coordinate multiple vendors, contractors, and subcontractors
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and client‑facing skills
