Job summary

Leroy Street Studio is seeking an experienced Interior Designer to join its design team in New York. The candidate will work with the head of Interior Design on high-end residential and design-build projects, contributing FF&E expertise and managing key aspects of projects independently.

Responsibilities include creating design concepts, drafting plans and renderings, specifying finishes, sourcing FF&E, and coordinating with vendors, studios, and the warehouse team to ensure on-time delivery and

Qualifications

• BA or MA in Interior Design, Furniture Design, or Architecture.
• 4+ years of demonstrated Interior Design experience in high-end design.
• Cultivated a strong network of high-end vendors and craftspeople.
• 2D and 3D sketching by hand.
• Proficient in SketchUp and Studio Designer.
• Experience in ArchiCAD is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create design concepts in collaboration with Principal and senior team members.
• Hand draw and/or draft floor plans, elevations, and renderings.
• Specify finishes, plumbing, hardware, and appliances; investigate costs and lead times.
• FF&E sourcing from a wide range of sources, including local designers and auction houses.
• Design fabric stories; check stock, lead-time, CFAs, etc.
• Prepare design drawings for fabrication and coordination—custom furniture and lighting, rugs, window treatments.
• Confident using Studio Designer.
• Request estimates, pricing, lead times, and freight costs for furnishings and materials.
• Prepare accurate proposals for clients and track client and vendor payments in Studio Designer.
• Maintain running Excel budgets.
• Proactively identify, address and resolve challenges and issues, collaborating and keeping the team informed.
• Track orders and Warehouse receipt; coordinate site visits, final deliveries, and install with workrooms and the warehouse team.
