Job summary

TRG Architecture + Interior Design is seeking a Senior Interior Designer to lead high-end, whole-house and remodel projects from concept to completion. You will guide a design team, coordinate with the architecture group, and present concepts to clients.

Strong PM skills and mentoring ability are essential for success. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field with 7+ years at a top studio, and proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, and Studio

  • Lead job site meetings to ensure design builds as planned.

Job description

Our interiors are all-encompassing, from space planning and built-in features, through cabinetry design, decorative lighting, furniture, window treatments, and art. As a Senior Interior Designer, you will work alongside the Principal in designing whole-house and major remodel projects, from conceptualization to completion. You will take the lead on these projects and will be responsible for managing your team to develop and present design concepts, collaborate with contractors and industry partners, meet project deadlines and budgets, and ensure a seamless and positive experience for our clients.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree or higher in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field and a minimum of 7 years of experience at a high-end design studio. Additionally, you must have excellent project management skills, and the ability to manage and mentor junior staff. We are looking for someone personable, intelligent, resourceful, articulate, and self-motivated--someone who is detail-oriented and can multitask while maintaining accuracy and organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  • Develop whole-house design concepts and prepare and deliver client presentations.
  • Specify/design all interior finishes, including flooring, cabinetry, tile, countertops, plumbing, decorative lighting, rugs, furniture, and window treatments.
  • Manage projects from conception to move-in while efficiently coordinating with the architecture team and directing junior designers and other members of your team.
  • Create and oversee project timelines and budgets.
  • Draft floor plans, elevations, and furniture layouts in AutoCAD.
  • Run job site meetings to review framing, rough plumbing, electrical, etc... to ensure the design is built according to plan.
  • Direct furniture installations and manage whole-house window treatment design and installation.
  • Maintain professional and timely correspondence with clients, vendors, contractors and other team members.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field
  • 7 years of experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Proficiency in Revit (preferred)
  • Proficiency in a 3D modeling program (Sketchup or Rhino) (preferred)
  • Experience with Studio Designer an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must own a reliable car for use in this position
