Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Intelligent Modeling Coordinator to prepare complex intelligent models and coordinate across architecture, structures, and MEP on transit and multimodal projects. The role requires experience with Federated models, clash detection, and adherence to CADD/BIM standards.

The candidate will mentor staff, contribute to BIM Execution Plans, and interface with clients and agencies to ensure deliverables meet project requirements and quality goals.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with vocational technical training in basic CADD drafting technology and intelligent modeling.
• 12 years of related experience.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Cross-discipline coordination—coordinate intelligent models across architecture, vertical structures, transportation structures, roadway design, and MEP into a single federated, clash-checked model.
• Model coordination & clash detection—run clash detection in Navisworks and lead resolution across disciplines.
• Standards & governance—establish, document, and enforce CADD/BIM standards and workflows.
• Mentorship & guidance—mentor production staff and provide design sketches for finished drawings.
• Interfaces with clients, agencies, and subconsultants on model deliverable requirements and data handoff standards.
• Develop BIM Execution Plans and advise pursuit teams on LOD/LOE.
• Reviews prints and coordinates specifications with drawings.
