Job summary

Givebutter is hiring a Senior Software Engineer, Integrations, to join our Growth pod. You will own integration surfaces between Givebutter and partner systems, shaping our public API for AI agents and nonprofits that don’t code.

You’ll prototype and de-risk new partnerships, design API contracts and webhooks, and collaborate with product, growth, and partner engineers. The role emphasizes autonomy, AI-native workflows, and a hands-off CI/CD environment to focus on solving complex integration

Qualifications

• 4+ years shipping production backend services.
• Strong proficiency in PHP / Laravel, or related framework fluency.
• Deep familiarity with REST API design and HTTP semantics.
• Solid SQL, MySQL, or relational DB trade-offs.
• Experience building against real-world third-party APIs.
• Comfortable designing async job workflows and observable failure paths.
• OAuth, webhooks, and API security basics.
• Terminal-based AI tooling and agent workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own one or more partner integration surfaces end-to-end and shape them with product teams.
• Shape our public API to support AI agents and nonprofits that don't code.
• Prototype, de-risk, and land new partnerships, including ambitious ones.
• Design and defend API contracts, webhooks, and data flows for long-term use by other engineers.
