Job summary

Markel is seeking aSenior Product Development Specialist to lead form development for new and revised insurance products in the US Insurance Division. You’ll craft forms and endorsements that convey underwriting intent and support claims resolution, while ensuring regulatory and market competitiveness.

Collaborating with product leadership and regulatory teams, you’ll analyze bureau changes, conduct filings, and mentor others as you help Markel deliver compliant, high-quality forms across policy

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred with 5+ years in commercial P&C insurance.
• Experience in product development and knowledge of forms/endorsements.
• Ability to interpret state regulations and ensure compliance.
• Strong communication and analytical skills; detail-oriented.
• Proficient with Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Develop forms for new and revised coverages that convey underwriting intent and support claims resolution.
• Identify and confirm regulatory compliance.
• Research competitors’ forms and perform coverage comparisons.
• Analyze and communicate impact of bureau form changes.
• Lead form project meetings and filing notices.
• Prepare communications and support form implementations across policy systems.
• Mentor colleagues and share knowledge in Product & Regulatory Services.
• Participate in ongoing training and skill development.
