Job summary

Larson Design Group, Inc. in Raleigh, NC is seeking an experienced Instrumentation Engineer to lead instrumentation design, calculations, and documentation across diverse projects.

You will develop instrument databases, data sheets, and detailed control system details in alignment with project requirements. The role requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited) and 5+ years of experience; PE preferred.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering degree required.
• Minimum five (5) years of related experience.
• PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead instrumentation design activities across projects.
• Develop instrument databases, data sheets, and specs.
• Prepare detailed P&ID instrumentation and control details.
• Create instrument hardware specs using ISA/industry standards.
• Lead development of control strategies with multiple disciplines.
• Prepare and review instrument data sheets and reports.
• Review shop testing, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams.
• Provide guidance to junior engineers and designers.
• Coordinate with project teams to resolve technical issues.
• Assist in scope, schedule, and labor estimates for instrumentation.
• Support ongoing professional development and innovation.
