Job summary

Worley is seeking a seasoned instrumentation and controls engineering lead to deliver engineering services that meet client and regulatory specifications on time and within budget. The role includes leading I&C activities across projects, preparing progress reports, managing scope changes, and supporting procurement, construction, and commissioning.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in related field or equivalent experience if allowed by law.
  • Preferred: Professional Engineer (PE) registration in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Lead instrumentation and controls engineering activities on projects.
  • Prepare progress reports and follow project checking procedures.
  • Ensure project scope clarity and that changes comply with change management processes.
  • Assist with procurement, construction, and commissioning activities (writing requisitions, evaluating bids, writing purchase orders).
  • Provide guidance as the instrumentation and controls engineering lead on assigned projects.
  • Outline project requirements, promote workshare, assign tasks, and supervise progress.
  • Ensure compliance with Worley, customer, and regulatory requirements, on time and within budget.
  • Support junior personnel and communicate with stakeholders.

Job description

Deliver instrumentation and controls engineering services that meet Worley, its Customers, and applicable statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget
Technical Execution
  • Participate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports, and follow required checking procedures
  • Ensure project scope clarity and that changes comply with project change management processes
  • Provide assistance and advice during procurement, construction, and commissioning activities, including:
    • Writing requisitions
    • Conducting technical bid evaluations
    • Writing purchase orders
  • Function as the instrumentation and controls engineering lead on specific projects (if required)
  • Outline project requirements including actively promoting workshare, assign tasks, and supervise progress
  • Ensure required services meet Worley, its Customers, and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, on time and within budget
  • Proactively resolve any discrepancies between Worley and its Customer\'s requirements
Professional Development & Collaboration
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest developments and technical innovations in the instrumentation and controls engineering field
  • Assist and support junior personnel within the instrumentation and controls engineering team
  • Communicate effectively with the engineering team and project stakeholders, including Customers
  • Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required
  • May serve as a technical consultant within area of expertise and make formal presentations to Customers or Company management
What You Will Bring
Technical & Industry Experience
  • Highly effective technical and practical engineering skills with ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate, and timely work
  • Sound knowledge of fundamental requirements of instrumentation and controls engineering, and basic requirements of other engineering fields
  • Sound knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory/regulatory requirements
  • Competent use of instrumentation and controls engineering-specific software
  • Proficiency in relevant software (MS Office Suite)
  • Substantial technical and practical experience in instrumentation and controls engineering in the same or similar industry, including multi-disciplinary projects and teams
Education & Qualifications
  • Required: BS or MS in related field or applicable discipline (typically an engineering degree), or equivalent experience if allowed by law
  • Preferred: Professional Engineer (PE) registration in the United States
