Muon Space, Inc. is seeking a Senior Instrument Scientist for Simulation to own the modeling connecting optical, detector, and scanner physics to on-orbit capability.
You will drive instrument performance prediction and build virtual instrument representations of hardware. The role requires 5+ years in imaging/EO hardware simulations, strong coding skills in Python/Julia/C++, and the ability to communicate trade studies across teams.
Muon's Instrument Science team, part of our broader Electro-Optical/Infrared Instruments organization, defines the science, models and calibrates the instrument, and validates its performance, translating physics into orbital capability from concept through end of life. As our Senior Instrument Scientist responsible for Simulation, you will own the simulation and modeling that connect optical, detector, and scanner physics to on-orbit capability, drive instrument performance prediction, and build the virtual instrument and digital twin representations of our on-orbit hardware.
The salary range for this role is $158,000 - $207,000 , plus a competitive equity grant and comprehensive benefits package. Final compensation will be determined based on skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location as assessed during the interview process.
