Job summary

Muon Space's Instrument Science team defines, models, and validates calibration for imaging instruments from concept to flight readiness. You will own the calibration hardware and software, define test procedures, and deliver results that validate instrument readiness for space missions.

This hybrid role requires on-site work at our Mountain View office three days per week, with close collaboration across Instrument Assembly, Integration and Test and the Infrared Data Product team.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering, physics, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years building/operating ground calibration test infrastructure for imaging systems.
• Hands-on calibration equipment experience and flight software familiarity.
• Proficient in Python, Julia, or C++ with testable, shared code.

Responsibilities

• Develop hardware and software infrastructure for ground calibration.
• Define ground-calibration test procedures and campaigns.
• Deliver ground-calibration results and reports.
• Collaborate to ensure calibration methodology is executable on ground tests.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation to support on-orbit anomaly resolution.
