Job summary

INDEPENDENCE ELEMENTARY in Independence, Oregon seeks an Instructional Assistant III (Special Ed.) to support teachers in small groups and one-on-one settings while ensuring student supervision in the Post-High Transition Program and Intensive Learning Centers.

The role requires an Associate's degree or higher, strong English communication, and ability to assist with IEP/504 plans. CPR/First Aid may be required and the position is based in a typical classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's degree (A.A.) or higher.
• Experience: Previous experience with children in educational settings preferred.
• Ability to communicate fluently verbally and in writing in English.
• General knowledge of computer usage and ability to use e-mail, internet software and word processing software.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher in performing duties to achieve instructional objectives.
• Lift, move, and operate adaptive equipment.
• Assist students with personal care tasks as needed.
• Support implementation of IEP/504 objectives under supervision of teachers.
