Job summary

Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of General Dynamics, seeks a skilled Quality Assurance Inspector to perform inspections and ensure airworthiness of aircraft and components.

Responsibilities include coordinating inspection requirements, maintaining records, mentoring staff, and supporting FAA/CAA documentation. Requires 8 years in aviation maintenance with an A&P license and strong blueprint reading skills.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 8 years aviation maintenance experience including 2 years Gulfstream aircraft experience and 2 years aircraft inspection experience.
  • A&P license required.
  • Knowledge of inspection and maintenance procedures for various aircraft models and systems.
  • Proficient in blueprint reading and interpretation, shop mathematics and QC procedures.
  • Working knowledge and application of Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control systems and methodologies.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Quality Control inspections on aircraft/components.
  • Complete inspections of aircraft, engine, and component repairs to FAA approved data.
  • Coordinate mechanical, electrical and inspection requirements during maintenance or outfitting.
  • Keep accurate, neat, and legible records of work performed.
  • Coordinate with RTS to ensure accurate aircraft records are produced on time.
  • Ensure aircraft/components are airworthy before flight and prior to return to service.
  • Mentor technicians on effective documentation.
  • Communicate with management to identify work assignments and delivery schedules.
  • Provide technical support to inspection personnel for FAA/CAA requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The base compensation range for this role is $43.01 - $56.45 per hour.

Final compensation for this role will be determined by several factors including but not limited to: minimum and preferred qualifications, knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, and location.

Education and Experience Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required. 8 years aviation maintenance experience (avionics, electrical, and/or mechanical) to include 2 years of relevant Gulfstream aircraft experience and 2 years of aircraft inspection experience. A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license required.

Position Purpose:

Performs inspections of aircraft, aircraft components, and reviews paperwork to ensure that workmanship meets acceptable standards of quality, and that aircraft are returned to service in an airworthy condition with all required. documentation properly completed and filed. Works as an integral part of the Quality Control/Assurance team assuring aircraft/components are in compliance to FAA/CAA requirements.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for Quality Control inspections on aircraft/components .
  • Completes inspections of aircraft, engine, and component repairs and alterations to ensure conformity to FAA approved/acceptable data .
  • Coordinates mechanical, electrical and inspection requirements on the aircraft during maintenance or outfitting .
  • Keeps accurate, neat and legible records of the work performed on aircraft/components .
  • Coordinates throughout assigned jobs with RTS to ensure accurate aircraft records are produced in a timely manner .Conducts audits of maintenance documentation for accuracy and completion on all aircraft prior to approval for return to service .
  • Ensures aircraft/components are airworthy prior to any flight activities .
  • Mentors technicians on effective documentation .

Additional Functions:

  • Communicates with management as required. to identify work assignments and delivery schedules .
  • Provides technical support to inspection personnel in supporting the FAA and/or CAA documented requirements .

Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of inspection and maintenance procedures for various aircraft models and systems.
  • Knowledge of pertinent technical reference materials.
  • Proficient in blueprint reading and interpretation, shop mathematics and QC Procedures.
  • Working knowledge and application of Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control systems and methodologies.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
