Job summary

HNTB Corporation is seeking a skilled Field Inspector to support daily inspection efforts on complex infrastructure projects. You will document work, verify conformance with plans, and prepare essential reports for contractor pay estimates.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and extensive construction inspection experience, with multiple jurisdictional certifications preferred. Strong communication and mentoring abilities are expected in a dynamic team setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent with 9 years construction experience.
• All required jurisdictional certificates and state requirements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

Responsibilities

• Inspects and documents contractor work to ensure schedule and specs compliance.
• Advises contractor superintendent to achieve plan conformance.
• Reviews and resolves quantity disputes with the contractor.
• Presents daily reports and assists in pay estimate review for accuracy.
• Performs on-site material testing and creates as-constructed sketches.
• Mentors staff inspectors and may lead daily assignments.

Prepares daily and weekly reports on work accomplished by contractor and reviews periodical pay estimates with contractor for accuracy. Prepares sketches and assembles data for Field Engineer to utilize when making changes to the project. May participate in the mentoring, development, and evaluation of staff inspectors.What You'll Do:Inspects, observes, documents, and verifies work in progress by the construction contractor to ensure compliance with project schedule, contract documents and plans. Confirms procedures are followed and material used conforms to specifications.Advises Contractor superintendent of necessary actions to ensure conformance with plan, specs, and contract.
