Westchester Medical Center Health Network in Valhalla, NY is seeking a Senior Inpatient Coder to address appeals and code complex medical records using ICD-10 CM/PCS. The role includes clinical guidance, DRG accuracy, and collaboration with health information management teams.

The ideal candidate has CCS certification, inpatient coding experience, and strong knowledge of AHA guidelines. This is a full-time position with day shifts in a health system supporting DNFB reduction.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years inpatient coding in acute care.
• Proficiency in ICD10 CM/PCS and ability to pass coding assessment.
• Strong knowledge of AHA Official Coding Guidelines.
• Ability to interpret DRG classifications and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Address appeals to insurance denials to expedite reimbursement.
• Assign accurate ICD10 CM/PCS codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Query physicians for documentation clarification.
• Maintain DRG-related documentation and coding queue.
• Train lower-level coders and provide guidance as needed.
